Hubo un tiempo en que los niños jugaban en la calle hasta que caía la noche, inventaban historias sin más tecnología que su imaginación y aprendían a conocer el mundo a través de la curiosidad y la experiencia. Desde niña, la autora escribía cuentos e historias, incluso ganando concursos literarios en el colegio. Sin embargo, este es el primer libro que decide enviar a una editorial. Como orientadora familiar, Pamela quiso mostrar, a través de la protagonista, cómo era la crianza en sectores populares chilenos durante los años 80 y cómo ha cambiado hasta hoy. “Quería que el lector pudiera comparar o recordar, viajar a través del tiempo o de sus propios recuerdos”, explica.
La historia arranca en Santiago de Chile en los años 80. Papolona, una niña alegre, curiosa y llena de imaginación, vive en un mundo donde los juegos, la escuela y la vida cotidiana tienen un sabor distinto al de hoy. Pero un día, un portal la transporta al año 2019. Allí, su misión será investigar por qué los niños han cambiado tanto: qué pasó con sus juegos, con la escuela, con la forma de vivir y relacionarse.
Un libro para toda la familia
La narración está contada desde la mirada de una niña de 10 años, lo que le da frescura, humor y un toque entrañable. Esa voz infantil, a la vez inocente y aguda, permite que el lector adulto reviva su propia infancia y que los más pequeños descubran cómo era la vida antes de los teléfonos móviles y las redes sociales.
